It is a nickel-copper alloy with excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of media. It has good general corrosion resistance, good weldability, good ductility, good thermal conductivity and high strength. The alloy has been used in a variety of applications. It has excellent resistance to fast-moving brackish or sea water. When degassed, it is particularly resistant to hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The alloy is slightly magnetic at room temperature.
